About The Congress

Florida is missing opportunities to grow the state’s economy and create jobs because we lack the market certainty to position The Sunshine State in the clean tech sector. For this reason and more, there is a growing imperative to put both state and federal policies in place to create a robust market for clean energy technologies.
The Clean Energy Congress is a unique opportunity for business interests and other stakeholders to envision a clean energy future for Florida and the nation.
The Clean Energy Congress will:
· Provide a vision of a clean energy future for Florida
· Develop policy recommendations for moving Florida forward to a clean, renewable energy future.
· Encourage a special legislative session to address Florida’s need for a comprehensive clean, renewable energy policy.
· Be a networking opportunity for renewable energy producers and advocates.
· Be a constructive outlet for the frustration from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
· Identify and foster individual actions that citizens can take to reduce energy use.
· Involve individual, families and households, small businesses, large corporations, academia, and nonprofit groups to protect the environment, strengthen our national security and rebuild a strong, sustainable economy.
